The Knipex Cobra 87 01 400 pliers with a length of 400 mm are one of the largest adjustable pipe and nut pliers on the world market; within the Knipex Cobra series, it is the second largest pliers. The good reasons for using this adjustable pipe and nut pliers are obvious: it is quickly positionable on the workpiece and self-tightening, e.g. on pipes and nuts. With the handles coated in synthetic resin, the Knipex Cobra 87 01 400 pliers guarantee a non-slip grip and a comfortable grip. It is suitable for professional use on pipes up to 3 ½ inches or 90 mm in diameter, as well as on nuts up to an opening of 95 mm.

For pipes, nuts, sleeves, for the most varied types of pieces: the professional user positions the Knipex Cobra pliers quickly and precisely with a single manoeuvre. The spring-loaded hinge pin snaps, locking the caliper securely without inadvertent movement. Thanks to the fine adjustment in 27 positions, the Knipex Cobra 87 01 400 pliers can be optimally adjusted to various workpiece sizes. This fine adjustment also ensures the user a comfortable grip in every opening position.

The Knipex Cobra pliers locks independently on the workpiece thanks to the special jaw geometry developed by Knipex. This allows the user to apply his own strength to perform the desired movement without having to press to close the handles, therefore without losses. It is possible to rotate the round pieces, tighten and loosen the threaded connections.

Made of chrome vanadium steel and we give it an optimal balance in terms of hardness and resistance through a multiple hardening process. And this is what makes it highly resistant. To ensure a long-term secure grip on the workpieces, we subject the gripping teeth to high frequency treatment, increasing their hardness up to 61 HRC.

The Knipex Cobra pliers are further stabilized by the pass-through hinge. Unlike pliers with a supported hinge, in this pliers no unbalancing forces occur, as the handles stabilize each other in the joint.
