- If you have to carry out heavy and continuous demolitions for many hours
- If you need the freedom of a battery-powered car above all else
Weighing around 7.2 kg and delivering 15 Joules of impact energy, the TE-RH 40/15 3F is a serious machine: choose it when you really need its drilling capacity and chiseling power.
Einhell TE-RH 40/15 3F vs. Bosch GSH 18V-5: Which One Should You Choose?
This comparison is interesting because the two machines both use an SDS-Max attachment , but were designed with two completely different philosophies.
The Einhell TE-RH 40/15 3F is a genuine mains-powered rotary hammer and chisel: it focuses above all on impact force, versatility and drilling capacity .
The Bosch Professional GSH 18V-5 , on the other hand, is a purely cordless demolition hammer : it is not designed for drilling, but for chiselling, corrections and professional demolition with the advantage of total freedom from the cable.

👉 In summary: choose the Einhell TE-RH 40/15 3F if you want a very powerful and versatile machine with which to drill up to 40 mm and chisel , working mainly where you have access to electricity.
Instead, choose the Bosch GSH 18V-5 Professional if your work is mainly chiselling and demolition and you want a professional cordless machine, more compact and free from the cable.
Fabrizio 's usage tips and suggestions
On a 15 Joule machine, the first thing I recommend is not just looking at the power: above all, you need to use the correct accessory and let the pneumatic mechanism work.
Pushing with all your weight on the machine doesn't necessarily mean you'll go faster. In fact, it often achieves the opposite result and simply increases fatigue.
Let the hammer work
When drilling into concrete, maintain firm but not excessive pressure.
The pneumatic system must be able to correctly transfer the energy to the tip: there is no need to continuously press the machine against the material .
Use appropriate SDS-Max bits
On a perforator of this category the quality of the tip makes a big difference.
A worn or cheap bit can significantly slow down your work, even if you have 15 Joules available. For demanding concrete, I would always use good-quality SDS-Max bits of the correct diameter.
For large holes, parts checked
When you have to drill a large hole, don't start immediately looking for maximum speed.
Place the bit correctly, create the beginning of the hole, and then gradually increase the pace. You have more control and reduce the risk of the bit slipping.
When chiseling, choose the right chisel
- Pointed chisel: for breaking and concentrating force on a specific area
- Flat chisel: for removing material over a larger surface area
Choosing the right accessory often makes more difference than you think.
15 Joules does not mean unlimited heavy demolition
The TE-RH 40/15 3F has a significant impact force and is very good for renovations, but I wouldn't confuse it with a large dedicated 10-15 kg demolition hammer.
It's very versatile for removing tiles, opening up grooves, working on plaster, and tackling small demolition jobs. For heavy-duty and continuous demolition work, I would instead choose a specific machine.
Watch your weight
The machine weighs approximately 7.2 kg : when working against a wall it is easy to handle, but if you have to work overhead for a long time the weight inevitably starts to make itself felt.
In that type of use, a more compact machine can be more productive even if on paper it has fewer Joules.
Einhell or Bosch?
Here the choice is quite simple.
If I have to make large holes and then maybe chisel , I would get the Einhell: it's more versatile and with 40 mm of capacity in concrete it covers a lot of renovation jobs.
However, if I am a professional and have to constantly go around the construction site making marks, corrections, removing tiles and chiselling , the Bosch GSH 18V-5 has a huge advantage: I don't have to look for sockets or manage extension cords.
My final advice
I would choose the TE-RH 40/15 3F above all for the performance-to-investment ratio: you have a 15 Joule SDS-Max that can both drill and chisel, with chisels and case already included.
👉 If you need to renovate, make serious holes in concrete and want a machine that can handle multiple jobs, it's a very complete solution without having to climb to a much higher professional price range.
